Spiders dislike strong scents, so you can try these home remedies to repel them:
Vinegar - Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a spray bottle, and spray on webs or in areas where you see spiders.
Peppermint oil - Spiders hate the minty aroma of peppermint oil, so you can spray it on spiders.
Baking soda - Baking soda clings to the exoskeletons of bugs like spiders, drying them out.
Citrus - Spiders are repelled by the strong scent of citrus fruits, so you can mix freshly squeezed lemon juice with water and spray it around your home. You can also wipe orange peels on windows and doorways.
Cedar - The scent of fresh cedar deters spiders, so you can add cedar chips, aromatic hangers, or cedar-scented candles around your home.
Basil, lavender, or mint - These houseplants repel spiders.
A few suggestions:
Spiders don't tolerate the smell of peppermint and will avoid every area where it is applied. You can also use eucalyptus oil to the same effect. Vinegar: Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a spray bottle and spray it directly onto any spiders you see.
Spiders really don't like strong scents such as citrus, peppermint, tea-tree, lavender, rose or cinnamon. Add 15 to 20 drops of your chosen essential oil or a couple of capfuls of Zoflora fragrance to a spray bottle filled with water, and spritz around the house.
Make your own Spider repellent:
Mix five to six drops of an essential oil such as peppermint
A teaspoon of dish soap
half a quart of water
Shake the mixture and spray along the bottom of baseboard and doors etc.
